Flying a hull for youth sailing

Vodafone has signed on as a partner of the Sir Peter Blake Torbay Regatta, to be held at Waiake Beach, Torbay over the weekend of 1-2nd December. The regatta is the largest centreboard sailing event in the country, with more than 400 boats participating, with a focus on youth sailing and promoting the values of Sir Peter Blake. The big red boat, Team Vodafone Sailing, will make an appearance over the weekend as well as several members of the Vodafone Warriors (Manu Vatuvei, Russell Packer, Kevin Locke, Ben Henry) to show their support for those competing out on the water. Come down and check out the action from 9am on Saturday 1st December. read more

TeamVodafone Sailing gearing up for the start of the Coastal Classic on Friday 21 October (Matt Hall-Smith)

TeamVodafone Sailing hit an impressive top speed of 34.8 knots on the 119 mile sprint from Auckland to Russell, finishing the race in a record breaking time of 5 hours, 44 minutes, and 31 seconds. This remarkable time smashes the previous record set by Alfa Romeo in 2009 by the best part of an hour, and Simon Hull is pleased to bring the record “back to where it belongs, back to a multihull”.
